CortadoSoft is a medium-sized IT company that provides custom Java software
development services. They have their own development team, but a new project
requires ten more Java developers. Instead of recruiting more employees, CortadoSoft
has decided to hire JavaPeople developers for the duration of the project.
The ten developers from JavaPeople perform most development work on the project,
while two CortadoSoft senior developers concentrate on system design and
architecture. A project manager from CortadoSoft runs the project.
Benefits
Low HR costs: JavaPeople developers are more cost-effective than
employees available on the work market.
Improved efficiency: by delegating most development work to JavaPeople,
CortadoSoft developers can concentrate on the key and more rewarding
tasks of system design and architecture.
Flexibility: the size of development team can be easily adjusted
with JavaPeople resources.
Work model
CortadoSoft uses ten resources from JavaPeople.
Five J2EE developers and one database developer work in a weekly cycle
(40h / week), with task results delivered each Friday.
Four J2ME developers work in a biweekly cycle (60h / 2 weeks),
with task results delivered every other Friday.
The resources have been booked for the duration of the project (12 months),
but CortadoSoft intends to extend the contract and hire three JavaPeople
developers for another 4 months for project maintenance.
