JavaQ is a small independent Java software vendor. They sell their own
software product (a web application) and need software developers who
maintain the product and customize it for some customers.
The company owner chose JavaPeople instead of directly employing software
developers. He hired four Java web developers who follow his assignments
on a daily basis and a web graphic designer who customizes the web application GUI.
Before the JavaPeople developers could work on the JavaQ flag product development
and maintenance, they had to learn the system’s architecture and design.
JavaQ software architect only had to train one person, the JavaPeople delegated
analyst, and now JavaPeople perform any required developer training. The JavaQ
product-specific knowledge is listed a required skill for the JavaPeople
resources JavaQ uses.
Benefits
One time training and flexibility: development team can easily be augmented and
the developer training will be performed by JavaPeople
Lower costs: JavaQ avoided the need for extra office space that
would otherwise be necessary for five employees.
Work model
JavaQ uses five resources from JavaPeople.
Four Java web developers work in a daily cycle (8h / day, Monday to Friday),
with task results delivered at 1PM every day. JavaQ product-specific knowledge
is listed as a required skill for the resources.
One web graphic designer works in a weekly cycle (5h / week),
with task results delivered on Mondays at 9AM.
The resources have been hired for an unspecified period.
